I-PRE: Improved Proxy Re-Encryption Scheme for VANET
نویسندگان
چکیده
Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) is a network of self organized vehicles and road-side infrastructure communicating with each other over wireless, with a view to improve traffic safety and efficiency. Data interchanged over VANETs often play a vital role in traffic safety. Such information must be accurate and truthful, as lives could depend on this application. Thus, Authentication is one of the important services for traffic safety in VANET. In this paper, we discuss various approaches of authentication in VANET such as Digital Certificates (DCA), Pairing and Proxy Re-encryption (PRE). PRE is a better solution among all existing authentication approaches but still it is vulnerable to many attacks i.e. Denial of Service. We proposed an improvement in the PRE (I-PRE) that overcome the exiting attacks on PRE. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is analysed using OMNet++ simulator.

Improving the Security of an Efficient Unidirectional Proxy Re-Encryption Scheme
A proxy re-encryption (PRE) scheme allows a designated proxy, that has beforehand received a so-called re-encryption key, to translate a ciphertext intended to one user to a ciphertext intended to another one. Traditionally, the re-encryption key is generated at the initiative of the initial receiver and ideally, no secret keys should be known to the proxy. Such scheme is said unidirectional if...
متن کاملRe-Encryption Verifiability: How to Detect Malicious Activities of a Proxy in Proxy Re-Encryption
In this paper, we introduce a new functionality for proxy re-encryption (PRE) that we call re-encryption verifiability. In a PRE scheme with re-encryption verifiability (which we simply call verifiable PRE, or VPRE), a receiver of a re-encrypted ciphertext can verify whether the received ciphertext is correctly transformed from an original ciphertext by a proxy, and thus can detect illegal acti...
متن کاملSecurity and Privacy in VANET to reduce Authentication Overhead for Rapid Roaming Networks
Since the last few years VANET have received increased attention as the potential technology to enhance active and preventive safety on the road, as well as travel comfort. Security and privacy are indispensable in vehicular communications for successful acceptance and deployment of such a technology. Generally, attacks cause anomalies to the network functionality. A secure VANET system, while ...
متن کاملChosen-Ciphertext Secure Proxy Re-encryption without Pairings
Proxy re-encryption (PRE), introduced by Blaze, Bleumer and Strauss, allows a semi-trusted proxy to convert a ciphertext originally intended for Alice into an encryption of the same message intended for Bob. Proxy re-encryption has found many practical applications, such as encrypted email forwarding, secure distributed file systems, and outsourced filtering of encrypted spam. In ACM CCS’07, Ca...
متن کاملFully-Anonymous Functional Proxy-Re-Encryption
In this paper, we introduce a general notion of functional proxy-re-encryption (F-PRE), where a wide class of functional encryption (FE) is combined with proxy-re-encryption (PRE) mechanism. The PRE encryption system should reveal minimal information to a proxy, in particular, hiding parameters of re-encryption keys and of original ciphertexts which he manipulate is highly desirable. We first f...
